How to Challenge the Registry Fee

Under RSA 651-B:11, those who are required to register as sex offenders must also pay an annual fee of $50 to the New Hampshire Department of Safety.  Fifty dollars a year is a lot of money for many registrants who may be unemployed, underemployed, or working for minimum wage, or who may have dependents to support. The law has a means to get the fee waived for those who cannot afford to pay. CCJR encourages anyone who is living on a limited income to take advantage of this provision.
